The WISER-volunteer-J&J crew is convening in Amsterdam from various U.S. locations to head to Nairobi together. It’s 1:11 a.m. U.S. time (7:11 a.m. Amsterdam time) and we are surfin the free Schiphol wifi to stay awake. Took us 6.5 hours to get here and the next leg of the journey is another 8 hours. I have a head cold and Jeff has a sinus infection. My right ear is blocked and his left ear hasn’t popped yet. If we are not positioned correctly, we can’t hear each other at all. But our spirits are bright and hopeful and we will not be defeated by a little lack of cabin pressure!! Fight on!
